 TERMOLI'S TOURISTIC ATTRACTIONS.

Cathedral: built on the remains of another church at the turn of the 12th cent. mixes various architectural styles, especially in the facade divided into two contrasting sections, the older upper part in Apulian Romanesque with central rose window, the lower more elaborate with Islamic influences. The interior is divided into three naves with circular pillars and Baroque evidence, and houses the relics of St. Bassus and St. Timothy, city patrons. The cathedral is on the highest point of the Thermolese promontory and is dedicated to St. Mary of the Purification.

Swabian Castle: built of limestone and sandstone as a lookout tower to defend the coast and renovated by Frederick II of Swabia from whom it took its name; it is located at the entrance to the old town. The minimal structure of the square-based tower has no special decoration.

Torretta Belvedere: was a watchtower at the entrance to the old village; it is dedicated to Carlo Cappella and still houses the Tourist Information Office.

Church of St. Anne: built in the 18th century.

Church of Our Lady of Grace.
